Field service operations, built by someone who ran them

Field work, documented the moment it happens.

Flowterra is a field service operations platform for crews on the road — jobs, GPS, on-site photos with timestamps, equipment tracking and a clear status semaphore. Built to fit how your company already works.

Currently deployed in road traffic signage operations. Adaptable to any field trade.

The problem

By the end of the shift, half the information is already gone.

Nine years across electrical work, plumbing and road traffic signage kept showing the same failure modes:

Materials nobody can recall

By end of shift, no one remembers the exact quantities used or where they were installed.

Equipment on the wrong site

Tools and machines get dispatched to the wrong job — the crew arrives without what they need.

Illegible or late paperwork

Handwritten records come in incomplete, delayed, or not at all.

Back office runs blind

Information reaches the office late and inaccurate — mistakes and unnecessary kilometers pile up.

How it works

The real workflow — no invented magic.

These are the actual steps the platform runs today.

  1. Step 01

    Create the job

The dispatcher creates a work order, assigns a technician or crew, sets priority and location.

  2. Step 02

    Assign & schedule

The job appears on the weekly plan of the assigned people. Everyone sees what they own for the week.

  3. Step 03

    On-site documentation

In the field: GPS location, before/after photos with timestamps and coordinates, industry-specific line items (paint color, stripe width, etc.).

  4. Step 04

    Status semaphore & close-out

Job status updates to a color-coded semaphore — pending, in progress, done. Back office sees the truth in real time.

What actually works today

Only the features we have really built.

These features are live and used in operations today. Nothing here is a roadmap item.

Jobs & work orders

Create jobs, assign technicians or crews, set priority.

GPS & map view

Geolocation for every job, plotted on a map for the dispatcher.

Weather on the dashboard

Current weather conditions shown per job site — critical for outdoor trades.

Status semaphore

Color-coded status per job: pending, in progress, done.

Photo documentation

Before/after photos captured with GPS coordinates and timestamps.

Weekly plan

Overview of scheduled jobs and tasks for each field worker for the week.

Equipment tracking

Tools and machines tracked, including battery swaps.

Technician records

Named workers assigned to jobs — clear accountability.

Detailed job line items

Industry-specific fields (e.g. paint color, stripe width for road marking) captured per job.

Who it's for

Field crews with recurring on-site work.

Currently in production in road traffic signage.

Pricing

Transparent, no seat traps.

Two line items. That's it.

Founder

Nine years in the field. Same problems every time.

I've spent nine years doing field work myself — electrical installations, plumbing, and most recently road traffic signage and marking. Across all three trades I kept hitting the same wall: by the end of the day, nobody could reliably say exactly what was installed, where, or with what.

Equipment ended up at the wrong site. Paperwork came in unreadable or not at all. The back office was always a step behind reality — which meant more mistakes and more kilometers driven for nothing.

I started building Flowterra to fix exactly that. Not a generic SaaS you have to bend your company around — a platform that adapts to how you already work.
